Tool Box

Workers are like tools and play a role in a system. As a tool, they have a function and a purpose in the system in which they work. Normally, workers do not function in their work for their own self. Contemporary industrial systems are built through the work of each worker. The capitalist system is based on each worker’s functioning, yet the power relationship and hierarchy within the system cause conflict. In the artwork “Tool Box” I play with the relationship between my body as a tool and different tools. With this, I question the power relations between the capitalist system and its workers and rethink the meaning of work.
